Campbeltown is situated on the beautiful peninsula of Kintyre, often thought of as being the most remote of Scotland’s mainland towns. Located on a deep loch sheltered by Davaar Island and the surrounding hills, it is an ideal base for exploring the many attractions of scenic southern Kintyre. The road to Campbeltown offers some of the most breathtaking scenery in Scotland and inspired Paul McCartney’s famous song ‘The Long and Winding Road’ which he wrote at his farm near Campbeltown, saying “I have always found inspiration in the calm beauty of Scotland and again it proved the place where I found inspiration.” You will be spoilt by the choice of sandy beaches, seal spotting at Machrinhanish, the many scenic walks or just relax with some good local food.
The Aqualibrium complex contains the public library, a 25 metre swimming pool and fitness facilities.
